Solche e.V. is an association in Chemnitz for music, art and collaborative cultural projects. Emerging from a network of artists and volunteers, it was registered as an association on 27 December 2020. The band Solche is its starting point and driving force. Today, its activities also include a choir, painting and much more.

Music and choir
The band Solche has existed since 2005. Its concerts support the association both musically and financially. The band also supports other initiatives, performing at readings, exhibition openings and projects with limited funds for live music.
Since the beginning of 2026, the Chemnitz choir D’ACCORD has also been part of Solche e.V. Around 25 singers bring together different voices and perspectives. Their repertoire ranges from pop to songs with a social message. The choir recorded backing vocals for the Solche song “Wer ist wir?”. For D’ACCORD, singing together goes hand in hand with an open, respectful community.
Painting and other art
Painting has been part of Solche e.V. since its foundation. The association provides a studio, supports artists with exhibition openings and presenting their work online, and helps organise exhibitions, workshops and talks. Since 2024, it has also occasionally held KuK – Kunst und Kuchen (“Art and Cake”): looking at art, listening to music, drinking coffee and getting to know one another. Painting activities for children have also become part of the programme.
The association's work also includes books, audiobooks, films, readings and performances. Cultural exchange across borders is a particular concern. The band's tours, especially in Eastern Europe, have led to encounters, workshops and collaborations. In 2019, for example, the association invited a band from Belarus for a studio residency and a series of concerts.
Making things possible together
Solche e.V. supports other associations and initiatives with music, equipment and organisation. Past projects and activities include:
- building a drinking-water fountain;
- fundraising for Ukrainian artists, the Justin Sonder memorial and people affected by the earthquake in Venezuela;
- opportunities for other musicians to perform and record;
- the “Umweltnixe” audio-drama award, a live comedy series on the Brühl and a DJ workshop for older people;
- readings, conferences, exhibitions and shared cultural experiences involving many volunteers.

The supporting membership fee is at least €12 per year; a personal @solche.de email address can be arranged on request. Donations for a particular project are used for that project. Regular contributions are especially helpful for projects that require longer preparation.
