Why Schlatzen?
The word “Schlatzen” refers to a quotation from Niklas Luhmann: “Each population can reproduce only within itself; snakes and cats cannot produce ‘Schlatzen’.” DGdG, Chapter 3: Evolution, VI: Restabilisation of systems, p. 486.
“Schlatzen” combines the German words for snakes (Schlangen) and cats (Katzen). Since Solche are quite successful at falling between all the stools, the name seems appropriate.
Why Myspace?
For years, Solche resisted joining this community, finding it confusing and overrated. What ultimately tipped the balance was that, despite its awkwardness, Myspace was used by many people and had come to be accepted as an online calling card.
Its layout may be a disaster, but it is a widely used one. Since Myspace is not really a suitable place for information that matters, Solche decided to create this wiki and gradually fill it with information.
